Oh, man. This is a doozy.
By now, you’ve probably noticed that I’m a little “Type-A”. I prefer things to be organized, on time, and well planned. That is just one of the reasons why I talk about photo timelines with my potential couples when we first meet! The smoother I can make this process, the better. Couples have enough to worry about in this process!
Let me take you back to 2017 when I was planning my own wedding. I was working in the wedding industry at the time. I enjoyed planning things and I was pretty darn organized. I wouldn’t need a wedding coordinator, right? Wrong. 150% Wrong. My wedding coordinator, Kelsea with Touch of Whimsy, saved my butt more than once during my wedding planning process and she was worth every single penny. Plus some.
You are supposed to enjoy this time in your life, not be completely overwhelmed by it! Hiring a professional wedding planner to help you with this process will be critical to a smooth and enjoyable engagement and wedding. Yes, they can seem expensive at first, but you cannot put a price tag on peace of mind, being able to sleep at night, and a smooth wedding day! Plus – having a professional coordinator lets your friends and family enjoy your wedding day with you, and also, your other vendors can focus on what they do best!
A professional wedding coordinator is not a friend, not a family member, and sometimes not even a venue coordinator.
Here’s why they don’t replace a professional wedding coordinator:
Oh, by the way, did you know that couples who do not have a coordinator receive about 30% less photos than couples who do? These weddings are so much more chaotic and unorganized that my second shooter and I end up spending valuable time getting people organized and in the right place at the right time. Don’t waste your investment in photography on your lack of a professional coordinator!!
