I’m a twenty-something wedding photographer in Texas who photographs couples who are ready to celebrate their marriage. Building my business has been one hell of a ride, so grab a cup of coffee (or some wine - no judgement here) and join me for my life behind the lens.
I get to be a part of some pretty amazing moments as a photographer. One of my absolute favorite moments to be a part of are proposals! Just this past Saturday, I had the honor to photograph Kyle and Emily’s proposal at Cibolo Nature Center!
When I photograph a proposal, I always make sure to schedule a walk through before the big moment. I want to make sure I know where the proposal will take place and how I can get the best photos possible. It is also a great opportunity for me to get to know the soon-to-be groom a little better! Kyle and I met at the nature center the evening before as it was getting dark. (Side note: I do NOT recommend walking through Cibolo Nature Center at night…unless you like snakes and spiders). He showed me exactly where he wanted to ask Emily, and we made our game plan for the next morning.
Every proposal is a little different, but since I had taken photos of Emily earlier this summer, we were afraid that she would recognize me and know something was up. Since there wasn’t a great place to hide safely (who knows what lives in that tall grass…), I enlisted the help of my sister, Jamie. I would be at the Nature Center “photographing Jamie’s new headshots” so if Emily did recognize me, hopefully she wouldn’t think anything of it! I kept my back to the path that Emily and Kyle would be walking down, and Jamie gave me the signal when it was time to turn around!
Kyle nailed this proposal and Emily’s reaction was perfect. After years of dating, these two are ENGAGED!
Congratulations, Emily and Kyle. I am so honored that I was there to capture this moment for you!
