I’m a twenty-something wedding photographer in Texas who photographs couples who are ready to celebrate their marriage. Building my business has been one hell of a ride, so grab a cup of coffee (or some wine - no judgement here) and join me for my life behind the lens.
Things have been crazy around here, but I wanted to share a little bit about my weekend and a few organizations near and dear to my heart! This past weekend was all about empowering young women in our community and I am so honored to capture some exciting moments from these events.
Saturday kicked off our community weekend with Girls Inc‘s RockIT Into the Future Science Festival. For those of you who may not know, my photography career is shared with a career in IT. I have worked in IT at USAA for almost 3 years now, and it is such a blessing in my life. I work with incredible people who support incredible causes – one of which includes encouraging young women to pursue STEM careers. Girls Inc RockIT Into The Future is a city wide event that consists of tons of booths to get young women excited about science, technology, and other awesome stuff. Even at 26, watching Mentos get dropped into a coke bottle is pretty awesome.
On Sunday, I was up bright and early to spend the day with Ragan and Sarah from Ragan Patterson Studios at the annual Girls on the Run 5K. I have never been a runner, but this organization and the energy and spirit these young ladies have is contagious and it makes me want to run with them! My day was spent helping capture moments with Ragan and Sarah. To see all the photos from the day, you can visit their gallery here!
What are your favorite organizations that you love to support? I’d love to hear about them!
