I’m a twenty-something wedding photographer in Texas who photographs couples who are ready to celebrate their marriage. Building my business has been one hell of a ride, so grab a cup of coffee (or some wine - no judgement here) and join me for my life behind the lens.
There’s something that makes Lubbock feel like home. I’m not sure if it’s the people, the memories, or the beautiful university, but either way, it is always a treat to head back to that town that shaped me.
A former classmate reached out to me and asked if I would be in Lubbock anytime soon and if I’d be willing to take his girlfriend’s senior pictures. I, of course, would not pass up on an opportunity to have Texas Tech as a backdrop for some photos, so I instantly agreed. So we prayed for calm winds and met on campus to get started
As soon as I met Shelbi, I knew it was going to be a great session. Her personality matches that beautiful smile and we spent the majority of our time laughing and making fun of the loud sorority girls walking around campus.
We didn’t quite get the wind that we wanted, but it still worked in our favor at times.
You would be amazed to see how many people were on campus doing the same thing we were. At one point, I counted 25 people standing at the seal. We lucked out with the 5 minute window we found to get our own photos in.
As we were finishing, Shelbi said, “Oh! I forgot something. Can we do one more?”. I, of course, agreed and I’m happy that I did, because it has become my favorite photo I have taken to date.
I’m so happy for you, Shelbi! I hope your new adventure brings you happiness and I hope to see you and Jake soon! Congratulations on your graduation!
