I’m a twenty-something wedding photographer in Texas who photographs couples who are ready to celebrate their marriage. Building my business has been one hell of a ride, so grab a cup of coffee (or some wine - no judgement here) and join me for my life behind the lens.
Remember that one time when Katrina and James came do their engagement session in a suit and floor length dress? I sure do. It was one of my FAVORITE sessions I’ve ever had! This elegant pair practically grew up together and their long-awaited wedding day was a blast.
Our day began with Katrina getting ready with her ladies at NOAH’S event venue. This was my first time at NOAH’S and I really love how elegant and beautiful the space is! Katrina and James didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, but we did do a first look with Katrina’s father. Â You can tell that these two share such a special bond, and y’all, I literally cried through their whole father-daughter dance. This was my first time meeting Katrina’s family, but it didn’t take long to realize how proud they were. What a special day to be a part of…
We made our way across town to the St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church for a traditional catholic ceremony. I have photographed quite a few catholic ceremonies, but one thing I loved about this one  was that we were allowed to be positioned at multiple angles. It gave us an opportunity to capture those true emotions of the ceremony – the worship, the tears, and the laughs. Katrina and James were just so excited to be married. Finally! And you could feel the joy throughout the ceremony and the whole day!
We made our way back to NOAH’s for their portraits and the reception. There were beautiful string lights all throughout the reception space and it was magical. Brides – if you’re looking to add something to your reception space, consider uplighting and string lights. It can really transform a space from beautiful to WOW! Everyone (including us!) danced the night away and had an amazing time. I even learned the Bunny Hop (the Da Entourage version, not the Bunny Hop you’re thinking of). Towards the end of the night, it started to rain and I somehow convinced the newlyweds to join me outside for the most epic night time shot I’ve ever photographed. What an amazing night it was!
Katrina and James, thank you so much for letting me be a small part of your wedding day!
