I’m a twenty-something wedding photographer in Texas who photographs couples who are ready to celebrate their marriage. Building my business has been one hell of a ride, so grab a cup of coffee (or some wine - no judgement here) and join me for my life behind the lens.
Here we are again, friends! GEAR! I’m a tech lover at heart and I LOVE learning about gear and how things work. If you’re new here, you can check out my overview post, and my deep dive into my favorite prime lenses. Today, I’m going in depth about the work horses – my zoom lenses. I’ll be sharing when I pull these babies out of my bag, and some images that I took with that particular lens!
This lens is my pride and joy. I will forever be grateful for all 15ish family members who pitched in to buy me this beast of a lens. I use this lens a ton on wedding days – from the ceremony to capturing those intimate looks during the first dance. This lens has been my favorite since I started photography, and I just love the compression and sharp images that this lens produces. It is a bit on the heavier side and I often joke that this lens is the reason I do Crossfit, but even though its extra heavy, it’s still my favorite. This lens is SHARP and even though it’s a F2.8, the long lens gives be beautiful compression and bokeh in my photos.
The 24-70 is the lens you never knew you needed, but I find myself using it all. the. time. It’s a fantastic all-around lens and I find myself using it for everything from the ceremony to the reception. This baby is my favorite lens for fun dancing shots because I can be really close to the subject without the photo looking like I’m up close. It’s also the lens I grab for those those epic night photos. It’s fast, it’s sharp, and it’s phenomenal!
Do you love shooting with a Zoom lens? If so, which one is your favorite?? If you don’t have one yet, which is on your wish list??
